Monday April 24, 7 – 9 pm
This year our 13th annual Pride Seder will be held on Friday , June 16. In addition to it being our b’nei mitzvah celebration, this year’s seder will be the kick-off for the celebration of Sha’ar Zahav’s 40th anniversary as a community.
Over the years, our Pride Haggadah has grown and changed as we have looked for new ways to tell our stories. This year, we’re inviting you bring your story to the table by joining us for an evening of writing focused on the themes of the seder:
1 – our early years
2 – stories of resistance and AIDS
3 – who and where we are right now
4 – our dreams for the future
In this workshop we’ll be creating short pieces to be woven into the bones of our original Haggadah and we want your voice, your memories, and your dreams to become a part of our continually evolving text. You don’t have to be a seasoned writer to participate. All you need is a pen and pad, a laptop, a tablet, some stone to chisel, and a few little stories that you want to share.
