Question:  What do you get when Chanukah starts Friday night and you invite a Klezmer band?

Answer:     Kleznukah Shabbat

Please join Congregation Sha’ar Zahav, the SF Jewish Federation LGBT Alliance and KlezCalifornia to light candles, sing songs, delight in familiar synagogue tunes melded with klezmer rhythms and melodies, dance, and of course, eat and drink!

Sha’ar Zahav’s own Cantor Sharon Bernstein will be joined by master klezmorim Stu Brotman on bass, and Sheldon Brown on oboe, to inaugurate a new Chanukah tradition.  And a special guest, Michael Alpert –  one of the key figures in Klezmer Revival –  will now be joining us to assure a raucous evening

Be there:
7:30 pm, Friday, December 11, 2009
Congregation Sha'ar Zahav, 290 Dolores Street (corner of 16th Street), San Francisco

This evening is made possible by the grant from the family of Larry Tannenbaum.  And Larry loved a good time.

Come usher in Chanukah.  And before sundown, don’t forget to bid on your favorite Chanukah auction items at http://shaarzahav-JCF.cmarket.com/
