At Congregation Sha'ar Zahav’s annual Transgender Celebration Shabbat service, we honor our transgender and gender-queer community with special prayers, music and drash (teaching).  We will celebrate the progress that is being made in the Jewish community and the larger world towards being more welcoming and more gender-fabulous—and we will reflect on the holy work that remains for us to do.  Join us to celebrate Shabbat, learn about gender-queer perspectives on the weekly Torah reading. And as if that weren’t enough, celebrate with us on the long awaited ordination of our very own homegrown transgender Rabbi Reuben Zellman! People of all faiths and backgrounds and all different gender experiences are welcome!
