Shabbat Simcha - Pray, Learn, Sing, and Nosh!
People of all ages and levels of experience with Judaism will LOVE Shabbat Simcha!

10:15: Teaching service - Designed to help you learn about different parts of the Shabbat Morning Service.
Led by Cantor Sharon Bernstein and Howard Steiermann

10:15 - Drop your child off at Holy Family Day (across the street), if they want to attend the youth service Tots to 3rd grade.

Calling all tots through 1st graders.  Come join us as we celebrate our last Shabbat Simcha together by building our very own Torahs!  We'll talk, explore, and discover what's inside that very special scroll.

Talking about Midrash- Shinnui- Kendra Lubalin
This workshop will explore popular midrash and have the students create midrash of their own.

American Idol Shmashers- Jewish Rock and Rollers- Everyone- Issac Zones and Daniel Meyer O' Keefe
What do Bob Dylan (Robert Allen Zimmerman), Lou Reed of The Velvet Underground, The Beastie Boys (Adam Yauch, Michael Diamond, Adam Horowitz) Billy Joel, Joey Ramone of the Ramones (Jeffrey Hymen), Gene Simmons of Kiss (Chaim Weitz), Art Garfunkel, and Amy Winehouse have in common? They are all Jewish rock and rollers. Please join our own resident Jewish rock and rollers Daniel and Issac to rock out to the tunes of some shmashing Jewish rock stars.

This ongoing circle with chanting and meditation will be hosted by different leaders focusing on a range of paths towards accessing the divine.    

A Serious Man-Everything is Unpredictable- The semiotics and physics of an unknown world.
Rebecca Weiner and Rabbi Dev Noily 6th- Adult
In this follow up workshop Rabbi Dev and Rebecca will explore the theme of “ not knowing” in the film. Rebecca will explore the key plot lines that highlight “ We just don’t know” and show how the film addresses the existential components of post- Holocaust Jewry. Rabbi Dev will address how the math highlighted in the film mirrors these spiritual musings. Come prepared to think and laugh. Please try to watch the film before the workshop!

A Wider Bridge- Building connections with the LGBT Community  in Israel- Arthur Slepian
Learn about this new and exciting organization designed to provide more ways for LGBT people (and allies) to engage with Israel and to support the LGBT community in Israel. In this workshop you will learn about the growing LGBT population in Israel and how we can bridge the gaps to give them support. You will also  get up to date information from Arthur’s fact finding mission in Israel about how the community is growing and changing including  the experiences of LGBT Israeli youth and the LGBT Israeli Orthodox.
