EYES WIDE OPEN
In its San Francisco premiere, director Haim Tabakman’s taut drama EYES WIDE OPEN (Official Selection, 2009 Cannes Film Festival “Un Certain Regard”) is the tale of a forbidden same-sex romance set in Israel’s ultra-orthodox Jewish community.

THE SECRETS
Set in Safed, the site where the mystical texts of the Kabbalah were first received, Avi Nesher’s feature film THE SECRETS (SFJFF 2008) recounts the story of two young women fighting to be heard in the patriarchal world of the ultra-orthodox Jewish community.

This event is part of Out In Israel - LGBT Culture Festival
Co-Sponsored by the Consulate General of Israel and Congregation Sha'ar Zahav.
