 Israeli, Orthodox and Gay:

A panel discussion with leaders of this growing and important movement.

Over the past few years, a growing population of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals have emerged from within Israel’s Orthodox communities, and a set of new organizations have developed to serve their needs.   These organizations (Havruta, Bat Kol, Shoval and The Pride Minyan) seek to create community, provide support groups, promote greater visibility and understanding about the lives of the GLBT orthodox, and create welcoming spaces for prayer and celebration.   This panel discussion will feature three leaders of these groups:  Asaf Lebovitz, Eyal Lieberman and Zehorit Sorek.  Come hear their stories and learn about the successes they have had and the challenges they face as they forge new ground in Israeli society. Co-sponsored  by A Wider Bridge and Congregation Sha'ar Zahav.
