Bring a Friend to CSZ/Shabbat Across AmericaFriday, May 4, 2007, 7:00 pm Etc/GMT-7 This is the night to “Bring a Friend to CSZ!” As part of Shabbat Across America, a nation-wide effort to help people connect to a Jewish community, we are asking all members to bring one friend who might be interested in learning more about CSZ. Speaking at services will be a very special guest, Dr. Tzvia Greenfield (see bio below). There will be a casual wine and cheese reception at 7:00 p.m., followed by 8:15 pm Kabbalat Shabbat services filled with music and spirit. No pressure and no extravagant program, just a fun and uplifting introduction to our community. So remember, on May 4, Bring a Friend to CSZ!!
Jerusalem born Dr. Tzvia Greenfield, an activist of the Meretz Party, uniquely bridges her ultra-Orthodox background with her liberal views and values. An author, publicist, educator, and mother of five, Tzvia is a veteran activist in several Israeli and international human and civil rights organizations. For years she has campaigned for both the separation of religion and state, and against orthodox coercion. She is the founder of Mifne (Turning Point) Institute for Democracy and Cultural Identity in Jerusalem; was among the founders of the "Religious Women for the Sanctity of Life" movement; and is a member of B'tselem, the Israeli information center for human rights in the occupied territories. Dr. Greenfield was a Meretz Party candidate for the 17th Knesset.
