We are so glad you're a Sha'ar Zahav member.

While we do not have a set amount for membership, we ask that you make an annual contribution that is meaningful and appropriate for your household.

Our current budget is $1.1 million and we depend on Membership Commitments for 50% of our revenue. Our goal this year for Membership Commitments is $540,000. Please give as generously as you can!

Volunteering at Sha'ar Zahav

Thank you for completing your membership commitment! Your financial support is so very important to us.

Your contribution of time is important too - it's really what keeps Sha'ar Zahav feeling like home! Plus, volunteering is the best way to personally connect with other Sha'ar Zahavniks.

So take a look at the list below - we've made it very easy for you to pitch in this year. We have opportunities ranging from baking for one event to chairing a committee - and lots in between.

Shabbat Services and Other Gatherings

Greeter at 290 Dolores (On Friday night or Saturday mornings, welcome attendees to the building. Greet once in a while or on a regular basis.)Zoom Host-X and Zoom Support (If you attend regularly on-line, please volunteer to welcome folks to Shabbat and/or offer Zoom support.)

Connect with the newest SZniks (If you love meeting new people, volunteer to be in regular contact with our newest SZniks. Occasional calls, in-person meetings, maybe pre-Shabbat dinner.)

Caring Community (Respond to real-time needs of other congregants. Join an email list to respond to real-time needs of other congregants. Volunteer as you are able.)

Hanukkah Auction

Help solicit fun, community-building offerings from SZ members and friendsHelp solicit donations from businesses

Join a Committee - These committees and require a consistent commitment. We are always grateful for volunteers who step up. Check what might interest you and the Chair will be in touch in the next months.
