Targeting Your Donations

General Fund

There are many ways in which your contributions can be used to support and strengthen Congregation Sha'ar Zahav. Below we have listed some of the groups of funds to which you can donate. You can target your donation for one of these fund groups, or donate to the general fund to support the congregation in its overall operation.

Ritual

Your support for the Ritual Fund helps to strengthen our religious life in a variety of ways, including the development of gender neutral liturgy, printing our prayer books and Hagaddah, the purchase of Torah scrolls, and the development of musical programs that greatly enhance our services.

Social Action

As Jews it is our responsibility to participate in the process of Tikkun Olam. Donations to this fund helps our membership engage in a variety of socially conscious activities. From preparing meals for people suffering from AIDS to remodeling rescue missions, these funds represent an important aspect or our community and religious life.

Children and Families

CSZ nurtures children from a diverse community of families. We have a thriving Hebrew school (Beit Sefer) and a growing array of child- and family- centered programming. Donations to this fund helps us develop and strengthen these important programs.

Programming

We continually seek to enrich the lives of CSZ members through a wide range of programs. Programming Funds allow us to provide festive communal celebrations of major holidays, offer adult education classes, and hold many social and cultural events.

Building (Mishkan Dolores)

Our beautiful building is the result of hard work and generous contributions of our congregation, family and friends. The soaring ceiling of our sanctuary with its glowing stained glass windows remind us of the power or our community and of our spiritual connection. Donations to the Building Fund help us pay for this home and its upkeep.
