Welcome To Congregation Sha'ar ZahavCongregation Sha'ar Zahav, the Congregation of the Golden Gate, is a progressive Reform synagogue, established in 1977. We are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and heterosexual Jews, together with family and friends, both Jewish and non-Jewish. We come from a wide range of religious, ethnic, class and cultural backgrounds to worship God with egalitarian, feminist and gay-positive Jewish liturgy. We welcome all who wish to join us for worship, learning and celebration at our synagogue at the corner of Dolores Street and 16th Street in San Francisco. AnnouncementsOn Dry Ground: Faith, Fear and Transformation at the Edge of the Sea, The Jeffrey A. Miller Scholar/Artist-In-Residence for Shabbat Shira with Andrea Hodos, Founder of Moving Torah. Friday and Saturday, February 3-4, 2012. Andrea will be participating in the Friday (8:15 pm) and Saturday (10:15 am) Shabbat services, will bring us a two hour Moving Torah workshop after lunch on Saturday, and will perform Cutting My Hair In Jerusalem on Saturday evening at 8 pm at CSZ. The weekend, including lunch and the Saturday evening performance are free of charge, and you are most welcome to join us!
