Dear Sha’ar Zahav Congregants, Friends, and Family,
Our class has spent the past 5 weeks thinking about Tzedakah and what it means to be a Tzedakah Hero. We have decided to hold a bakesale to raise money for a just cause.
On Saturday, November 17th from 10:00am – 11:30am in Dolores Park, we will be selling: Glazed Donuts, Chocolate Donuts, Milk, Lemonade, Small Bags of Chips – Potato, BBQ, and Sour Cream and Onion.
The goal of our bakesale is to raise a generous amount of tzedakah money to give to Compass Family Services, a local charity that supports people experiencing homelessness. https://www.compass-sf.org/
We chose this charity because we see people experiencing homelessness in our neighborhoods and sometimes feel powerless to help them. This charity provides support and services to help people in our community attain economic self-sufficiency and family well-being. So we took the initiative to plan a bakesale in Dolores Park to support them in their mission. We need your help if this bakesale is going to make a significant difference in our tzedakah fund here at Sha’ar Zahav.
We hope to see you and many of your friends there!
Sincerely,
Sha’ar Zahav 7th Graders
