Shavuot: Night at the Shul
Date: Saturday, May 19
Time: 5:30 pm – midnight
Night at the Shul-where all your favorite teachers come to life! Learn in community with sessions throughout the evening led by: Stuart Dick, Jo Ellen Kaiser, Rachel Nilson, Britta Pomrantz, Francesco Spagnolo, and your friendly neighborhood clergy, Rabbi Copeland and Cantor Bernstein. We’ll study texts, sing, do yoga, and most importantly, get our blintzes on (cheesecake and other dairy and non-dairy goodness)! The evening will include both integrated and separate children’s programming, with our Beit Sefer kids showing off their homemade Torah.

Come to a sacred space dedicated to remembering our losses from this year and years past. We will sing, pray our liturgy of remembrance, share stories and hold other in community, led by Rabbi Copeland.

We will be serving blintzes, cheese cake, cheese & crackers, kugel, fruits & vegetables, as well as non-dairy pastries. If you can, we encourage you to bring your favorite vegetarian dish to share!

Topic: Interfaith Relationships in the Book of Ruth (couples of different backgrounds especially invited)

Topic: Singing to Sinai: Songs lush with garden, Torah, and love imagery for Shavuot

Session 2 – 8:30-9:20 pm

Topic: Yoga
Stuart teaches at Integral Yoga Institute, SF. No experience with Yoga is necessary, all are welcome! Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Bring a mat or borrow one of ours.
