Journey to Judaism: A Discussion Group

At Sha’ar Zahav, we encourage you to explore the spiritual and life-affirming path of Judaism.  Whether you are interested in exploring conversion, want to connect to the Judaism of your partner, or want to deepen your own Jewish background, you are welcome.

Date: Second Tuesday of every month starting January 9th until June 4th

Time: 7:00 – 9:00 pm

Location: In-person at Sha’ar Zahav

This discussion group will explore issues that arise for people who are considering, are in the
process of, or have only recently completed, converting to Judaism. We also welcome those who
have a Jewish parent (or parents), but were raised with little or no Jewish experience and are
interested in exploring their connection to Judaism. Topics will include questions of identity,
community, and family. This group is not an introduction to Judaism course, but rather a place to
ask questions and discuss issues with others who are also on this journey.

The group is facilitated by Sha’ar Zahav lay leaders, Ora Prochovnick, Rose Katz and James Carlson.

Please note: A minimum of eight people is necessary for an effective group experience, and in order to create a comfortable environment, the group will not be open to new participants after the second session.

Fee: There are no fees or membership requirements for this group. Pre-registration is required.

Registration: If you’d like to register for Journey to Judaism, please email [email protected].
